Breakdown
I find it hard to write about this issue. For one thing people seem to have made it a mish-mash of opinion and little about fact. They - and they being people from both sides of the fence - have created an issue where one word can mean many things to many people. Today we face an issue that presents itself infront of the 21st Century American, mind you a type of American this country or world has never seen before.
So what might this issue be? Quite honestly the word to describe it, is many in choosing. I could call it the immigration debate, then there is the illegal immigration debate (notice the word illegal which Mexicans (those people originating from the country of Mexico) take a strong dislike too), and then I could call it the let's secure our borders...ummm debate?
As you can very well tell yet probably very well not admit, the issue has many faces yet...ummm well that's just it, many faces.
While 500,000 Mexicans and Central American's can fill the streets of Los Angles (not like traffic was going to move any faster if they weren't there), a few thousands Republicans, I bet, are there bosses. While a couple million Democrats pretend to be apathetic with the grievances of the Mexican and central American populations in the U.S., a hundred or two congress swaying democrats could give a crap about those populations.
Reality - that's what we are all missing here. Sure I may be an overgeneralized human-being who sees tit for tat. But tell me how many of us level-minded people really walk the Earth? The issue in reality lies within the questions I presented in my previous post, though change the "you" to "we".
WE as Americans (not those unlawful peoples of ANY ORIGIN that may or may not live in these United States of America), yes WE AMERICANS need to ask three fundamental questions of ourselves, it's times like these that they need asking:
Who are we?
What do we want?
Where do we want to go?
Quite honestly, do WE (note: for the more stupid card carrying "I think immigrants are dandy people because I can't characterize the difference between and unlawful person of foreign origin and those IMMIGRANTS who are actually quite the dandy peoples" - member...that WE means American Citizen "I got my green card or born here papers") really want to let UNLAWFUL peoples of foreign origin have a voice in our country? (NOTICE for the card carrying member mentioned above I do not mean to imply that we should not let them have a say, I am simply stating a question.)
Confused yet?
I sure as hell am...and I wrote it.
Here is what WE are missing...a clear voice! Therefore I will attempt to present one...tomorrow...
