I Stand on the Edge of an Abyss

I peer down the edge and I see no path for me. I look up and I see no God for me. I look around and I see no persons for me. I am all alone on the edge of an abyss.

From here my path is non-existent. For from this point I must venture into my abyss, as alone as I am here on the edge of such a place.

In my abyss I will live, this is true. Others have perished here, to become names on walls and stars in the sky, but not I.

Here will not be my final stop. With one foot forward and arms swaying from side to side I will go forth.


With no hands to hold, no ears to talk to, from here I walk alone. Though, I do not choose to walk alone. That is what you have chosen for me. Will you join me in my abyss? Will you follow me into the darkness that envelopes this place of places? Will you have the strength to walk in the footsteps of "I" the only one of them to ever live? I do not ask others to join me here, for I do stand at the edge of my abyss and they do not join me here, though if you find me in my abyss, call out my name and to thee I will come.

I choose not my own life someone else chooses that, and not even God can claim such credit. For what is God in my abyss.

Up till this edge I stand on God has been my pathmaker. God has given me the light of knowledge, yet I stand on the edge and my abyss is dark.

And on what path will I walk? On no path at all. Free to explore the Universe, whether it be as your President or as a lonely peasant. I will walk amongst the souls of all life.

I am putting one foot forward now.

My abyss is dark.

It is hard to see.

But no matter.

There is no turning back.

To whatever power higher there is in this forsaken place of places, I ask for your power. For this is my time of need, and I ask of you whoever and where ever one so powerful may lie, giveth to me the power and I will not fail.

For this place of places needs not any more failure. I will be your beacon of light. I will be your strength and wisdom.
